Vehicle Description
As mentioned above, the unit is a Jayco 31BHDS (Bunkhouse Double Slide). As you can see in the pictures the unit has a front island queen with a pillow top residential mattress. There are hanging wards on either side of the bed with storage above and under the bed. The main bedroom can be closed off from the main living area via a sliding, solid door. The first slide-out is the sofa/dinette slide. The sofa is a jack knife sofa. The cushions are in good shape. There is some wear on the sofa upholstery. The dinette is a booth type and converts into a sleeping area. The cushions are in good shape, but again the upholstery shows some age. The kitchen has a double sink, three burner range with oven, and a Dometic gas/electric refrigerator. There is a lighted vent hood over the range. The water heater is a gas/electric with direct spark ignition (switch inside to turn on). The unit has 3 holding tanks (fresh water, gray water, and black water). There is a water pump that runs off of 12V power for use when there is not city water available. The rear bedroom has two bunks with residential pillow top mattresses (in lieu of the standard 3” foam mattress). The rear slide-out houses the bunks, allowing for ample room for seating, luggage or other just dressing. A fold down table is located on the wall opposite the bunks. Copious storage is available to the rear bedroom in way of a hanging ward and deep dresser drawers. The rear bedroom can be closed off from the main coach with an accordion style closure. The slide-out in the rear bedroom allows for a larger bathroom. The bathroom houses a sink with mirrored cabinet above. A foot pedal toilet with ample room to maneuver is located between the sink and tub/shower. A skylight about the tub/shower allows for greater head room when standing. An oversized vent fan in the bath allows for ample ventilation. Moving out of the bath and toward the main living area, more storage in the way of pantry or hanging ward awaits. More deep drawer storage is along this wall as well. The exterior is maintained well with minimal wear. As with all our used units, we are resealing the roof with Dicor. This is simply a precautionary measure for the next owner. All units need to be resealed every couple of years. This is a value added extra of about that would normally cost about $250. There is one small cut in the metal (2”) at the bottom corner of the main slide-out. There is a spare tire with the unit, but I would consider replacing the tire. The rim is fine. The unit is equipped with an outside shower located toward the rear. Cable inlet, 30 amp power cord, water inlet and wastewater drains are conveniently located between the slide-outs. Twin 30 gallon propane tanks round out the exterior amenities. I would rate this unit a 9 out of ten for a 2006 travel trailer. The weakest point would be the sofa and dinette upholstery wear. On the upside, the residential pillow-top mattresses throughout are an ultimate luxury compared to standard RV bedding, especially the 3” foam that is normally put in the bunk area. The weakest point about travel trailers in general is the lack of storage. Jayco has done a superb job of finding places to add drawers and wards. This is something you will appreciate as the family starts loading more stuff than one could imagine!
